Lamisil Terbinafine is an antifungal medication used to treat fungal infections. It is also used to prevent recurring infections caused by fungus. Lamisil Terbinafine is a medicine that can be used to treat fungal infections such as athlete's foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), ringworm (tinea corporis), and fungal skin infections (tinea corporis). Lamisil Terbinafine is available in the strengths of 2 tablets or 5 tablets, and also in strengths of 4 tablets or 8 tablets. Lamisil Terbinafine is also available in the forms of tablets and liquid suspension. Lamisil Terbinafine is used to treat fungal infections in the skin (tinea corporis) and in the groin (tinea pedis) where fungus is present. Lamisil Terbinafine is also used to prevent recurring infections in the skin (tinea pedis) caused by fungi.
Lamisil Terbinafine works by blocking the action of the fungal cell membrane called a tight junction. This prevents the entry of calcium ions into the cells, which is what causes fungal cell death. This action is responsible for the action of a fungal cell wall (called the “fungus membrane”) that helps the cell to survive. A fungal cell wall is formed when a fungal cell wall is broken down. It is formed when cells pass through a tight junction and start to leak fluids into the cell membrane. This causes the cell wall to be permeable and allow the fluids to enter the cell. This allows the fungal cell membrane to remain in the cell membrane for a longer period.
